Hoelscher Agriculture Development, LLC was founded by the members of Hoelscher Farms, Inc. to try to alleviate the "price taker" marketing that is required of the crop production business. Hoelscher Ag looked into multiple businesses including facility development, new cropping systems, and direct sourcing of existing commodities. Through validation of each possible idea Hoelscher Ag has seen the greatest pain around the direct, trait specific sourcing of commodities currently in production.

Hoelscher Ag is currently launching a pilot to finish validating its model for direct sourcing. Hoelscher Ag will be utilizing third party auditing techniques, web-based interaction between farmers and end users, and logistical scheduling to help enable a purer form of commodity sourcing; benefitting all parties from the individual producer of commodities, to the processors, to the buyer of food in the local markets.

Hoelscher Ag is not reinventing the supply chain, but providing a cost effective management option for those millers who desire to meet and exceed customer demand for their products through known and verified inputs. Hoelscher Ag's model for direct, trait specific sourcing is the future of agriculture commodity sourcing and the cost effective approach to processing efficiencies.
